Curry Malott

Curry Malott is Assistant Professor of Educational Foundations in the Department of Professional and Secondary Education at West Chester University of PA, USA. He received a PHD in Curriculum & Instruction from New Mexico State University in 2003. Dr. Malott has published widely in the areas of critical pedagogy and Educational Marxism. His most recent book, Marx, Capital, and Education: A Critical Pedagogy of Becoming (Peter Lang, 2015), coauthored with Derek Ford, is a ground breaking text advancing Marxist critical pedagogy. Building upon the international movement for a communist alternative to capitalism with a decidedly international Editorial Board, also with Derek Ford, Dr. Malott co-runs the cutting edge book series, Marxist, Socialist, and Communist Studies in Education (IAP). Finally, Dr. Malott conceptualized, founded, and co-runs an international critical pedagogy conference (ct21st.org) housed at West Chester University of Pennsylvania where he also works as an educational activist and mobilization chair of his local union.
