BOOK DESCRIPTION:The continuum of leadership preparation to be examined in this book consists of three phases: mentoring during university preparation programs, during initial years of work after become a school leader, and with school leaders having more than five years of experience in a leadership role. Propelled by considerable evidence about mentoring in school leadership preparation, the authors of this book seek to document further the critical role that mentoring plays in the maturity of school building leaders and school district leaders as well as using mentoring to promote the longevity of these school leaders. This book seeks both empirical and conceptual papers as chapters to comprise a book on mentoring as a vital part of developing school leaders within a continuum of educational leadership preparation.
TOPICS OF INTEREST:
• Mentoring future leaders during school administration programs
• Mentoring new leaders during the first five years of being a school or district leader
• Mentoring school leaders who have 6 or more years of experience as school or district leaders
