Call For Papers or Manuscripts

JOURNAL DESCRIPTION:
This volume of the Middle Grades Research Journal is an open call. The journal publishes research articles, review articles, conference proceedings, research studies, and comprehensive literature reviews. The editors invite manuscripts that critically examine methodological approaches that empower middle school students/adolescents’ growth and development or present robust research with educators and administrators in middle schools and communities. We also welcome conceptual pieces that challenge dominant ideologies and pedagogies and critique research paradigms.

TOPICS OF INTEREST:
• Middle Schools and the Challenges and Solutions of Teaching and Learning Post Covid
• The Change in Grade Configurations and the Impact on Teaching and Learning in Middle Level Education
• Restorative Justice in Middle Schools
• Transformative Educational Practices in Middle Level Education and Preservice Teachers
• Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Middle Level Education
• Trauma-Informed Teaching in Middle Schools
• Social Emotional Learning in Middle Schools

MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION INFORMATION:
Authors of accepted proposals will be notified by January 30 about the status of their submission and sent guidelines. Full manuscripts should be written in Times New Roman 12 point font and not exceed 30 double-spaced pages (excluding references, notes, tables, and figures).

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE FOR PUBLICATION:
Submissions Due: December 15, 2024
Anticipated Publication: Spring/Summer 2025
