Call For Chapter Proposals

Districts frequently experience complex challenges that affect their ability to serve their students effectively. Past research studies exploring solutions to these challenges involving collaboration and partnership generally focus on the relationship between the district and one other party. Gray and Purdy (2020) emphasize the importance of multistakeholder partnerships to help address complex problems of practice. This edited volume in the Transforming Education Systems (SEL) will feature research studies examining how districts have leveraged multistakeholder partnerships to support district-level and school-level transformation.

The editors invite proposals involving research around how multistakeholder partnerships have contributed to successful transformation of schools, districts, and educational programming. We welcome research drawing on diverse methodologies, and we hope to bring together a variety of studies on multistakeholder educational partnerships. Studies involving universities, local government partners, and regional business and industry partners are particularly welcome. We are also interested in research that examines partnership strengths and challenges, how these partnerships promote innovation, and the ways these partnerships accelerate educational transformation. Conceptual proposals that put forward theoretical frameworks to analyze partnerships are also welcome.
