Call for Chapters

BOOK DESCRIPTION:
This volume of the Contemporary Issues in Accreditation, Assessment, and Program Evaluation in Educator Preparation will explore methodologies and tools to develop a sustainable quality assurance system within rigorous educator preparation. A quality assurance system is critical to an educator preparation programs’ ability to document continuous improvement and overall program quality. There are multiple elements that comprise a quality assurance system. Quality assurance systems are as diverse and varied as educator preparations and serve as the DNA of an educator preparation program that aligns with their mission and vision of the institution. A strong quality assurance system informs policy and shapes the narrative surrounding educator preparation programs. The editors invite chapter proposals that discuss elements of data quality, systematic approaches to quality assurance, stakeholder participation in quality assurance systems, and how quality assurance systems inform policy locally and beyond. Contributions may include empirical or practitioner piece. We also welcome conceptual pieces that challenge existing frameworks, critique research paradigms, and analyze dilemmas or tensions related to quality assurance systems.

PROPOSAL SUBMISSIONS:
Proposals should be made on one single-spaced page, and consist of your name and affiliation, email address, a tentative title, and an abstract (200-250 words), topic outline, and paragraph summary of experience with designing, implementing, and sustaining a quality assurance system. All proposals are due by August 15, 2023. All submissions must be done through this link: https://go.ncsu.edu/recipeforsuccess

CHAPTER SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
Authors of accepted proposals will be notified by September 30, 2023 about the status of their submission and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters, ranging from 7,000 to 8,000 words in Times New Roman 12, double spaced text, inclusive of title, abstract, manuscript, and references, should be submitted as a Microsoft Word email attachment by December 30, 2023. Manuscripts should conform to 7th edition APA style conventions. See Author Guidelines. Graphics and images may be included.

Chapters should draw from the author/s own research and include case studies and reflective questions for readers to engage in and think actively about concepts and processes. Central themes should be explained in text boxes to engage the reader in the arguments presented. The end of the chapter should provide a summary of key reflections and insights on the research methodology, and recommendations for further reading may provide a wide range of current sources for further exploration and encourage readers to expand their knowledge.

Receipt by Editors of Final Draft of Book Chapters: April 15, 2024
