Text:
- Use 12-point Times New Roman for all text.
- Do not justify or apply hyphenation, outlining, or any other formatting.
- Indent the first line of each paragraph one-half inch using a paragraph indent or tab; do not use the space bar.
- Double space all text including References (not Tables)
- Allow lines to wrap naturally; no not use hyphens to break words at the ends of lines.
- Do not insert a blank line between paragraphs.
- Set off quotations of 40 words or more from the surrounding text (i.e., extracted); indent one-half inch from the margins. Adjust the margins; do not use spaces or tabs.
- Use italics for emphasis, not underlining.
Numbers:
When writing the chapter, authors should follow these general guidelines:
- According to section 4.31e of the Publication Manual (p. 112), numerals are used to represent specific values that signify time, dates, ages, scores and points on a scale, exact sums of money, and numerals as numerals. For instance, one would write 5 days instead of five days. However, there is an exception to this rule: When referring to approximate units of time (e.g., weeks, days, months, and years), use words instead of numerals, as in about five days instead of about 5 days.
