IAP BOOK SERIES
The Education Specialized Monograph Series
The Education Specialized Monograph Series is designed to highlight shorter works (approximately 40,000 words) of a specialized nature in education useful to complement additional course material in combination with other works in the series or as a standalone adjunct text. Each volume will offer a condensed and/or concise exploration of topics for readers to get a quick, but thorough and authoritative introduction of overview of the topic. Courses often rely on longer, comprehensive texts when a shorter work would be more efficient, focused, and useful to students and researchers alike. Each volume provides additional readings for those desiring a more detailed treatment.
The need for the series is paralleled in some ways by “A very short introduction to” and “A concise introduction to” series offered by competing publishers, but in this case is not limited only to introductory topics. Specialized topics are also welcome that can be used to supplement additional materials in a course, including other works from the series.
The intended audience is professionals, students, and researchers for whom an authoritative, yet concise treatment of a topic is desirable.
